Lenovo T440p M.2 Slot
Greetings,
. Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260, 2x2, Wi-Fi + BT combo adapter, M.2 card. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, 2x2, Wi-Fi + BT combo adapter, M.2 card WWAN (optional) One of the following, confi gurable by model (mutually exclusive with M.2 SSD). The slot to the left looks like a m.2 slot with nothing in it. Will any 2242 ssd fit in it or does it have to be single sided. Also the laptop has no internal battery just a spacer. Is it possible to add a battery to this model? There is no 3rd m.2 slot under the internal battery spacer, can this be added to the t440? T440p Third M.2/NGFF slot. So I was examining a few pictures and the lenovo service manual, and it appears that there is a third M.2 header on the top of the.
Running Arch on this mostly great laptop.
Right now, I want to explore using the second slot to install an m.2 SSD, to give me another boot option. My idea is to use this or the 2.5in SSD as a windows + linux installs, utilizing BIOS to choose between them. I am aware of using the optical drive bay as a hard drive option.
I understand there are two slots available: one occupied by the wireless LAN card, the other other free. Is this really true?
Some observations about this:
When I ordered the laptop, Lenovo had no option to configure to buy a m.2 drive. Crucial, a trusted big mfg'er of SSD's, lists no m.2 drive for the laptop. Lenovo.com's search shows no m.2 accessory for the T440p, in fact, few at all for any box. EDIT: the appropriate drive apparently is 42mm, which is less common it seems, but readily available from Transcend.
I am also concerned about Lenovo's whitelisting of accessories.
I would appreciate any hints, comments, or links regarding these questions, especially from T440 owners.
Happy Holidays,
Steve.

Hello,I have been planning to add a 240GB/256GB SSD to the spare M.2 Slot on my motherboard (2242) - T440P
I have narrowed down my options to some options:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-TS24 ... ers&sr=1-2
https://www.amazon.co.uk/KingDian-240GB ... ers&sr=1-7
https://www.amazon.co.uk/XuBa-Solid-Lap ... rs&sr=1-57
The XuBA Drive and Kingdian drives are £10 cheaper than the transcend, and all m.2 2242's with SATA 3 interface are more expensive than standard SSD's.
I just want to check: A) will all three of these drives work, or will i face dificulties with them working?

and B) is thr transcend that much better than the cheaper ones? They are all low cost brands as far as U know?
